Dr. Naresh Trehan is the founder, chairman, and managing director of Medanta - The Medicity, and one of the world's most acclaimed cardiovascular surgeons. Before returning to India, he spent over 20 years in New York, where he was Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at NYU Medical Center and performed over 48,000 open-heart surgeries. Dr. Trehan founded Medanta in 2009 with the vision of creating a globally benchmarked medical institution in India. He has received the Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, India's highest civilian honours.
